Admissions

Eligibility for admission to outpatient services with Northwest Iowa Alcoholism & Drug Treatment Unit, Inc. or referral to other levels of substance abuse treatment is determined according to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, (ASAM). All program involvement is designed on an individual basis to respond to the specific needs of each client. Treatment may be delivered through individual counseling, group therapy, and family involvement. Length of treatment is determined by continued stay and discharge reviews in concordance with ASAM.
The following criteria must be met at the time of the evaluation for an individual to be admitted into outpatient treatment with Northwest Iowa Alcoholism & Drug Treatment Unit, Inc.

  1. Documentation of a history of chemical use.
  2. Documentation of impairment in life functioning due to chemical use.
  3. Evidence to support the probability of abstinence during outpatient treatment is likely.
  4. Confirmation that an adequate environmental and/or social support system exists.
  5. Documentation of willingness to participate in treatment.
  6. Documentation of agreement to participate in the cost of treatment according to the established sliding fee scale.
